What’s In a Name
In 2005, my husband and I went on a cruise. Although I had spent my growing up years on the beaches of North Carolina (Carolina girls, best in the world!), there had only been one other time in my life that I had personally experienced the crystal clear, turquoise waters of the Caribbean.
On that cruise, we had the opportunity to go on an excursion to swim with the stingrays and snorkel. Believe it or not, I had never been snorkeling before! As I opened my eyes in the water that day for the first time, I was awed by the detail and diversity of color, life, and beauty that was hidden just underneath the surface of that beautiful, turquoise water. This was a scene that I had only experienced through the glass of an aquarium. To be able to fully immerse myself in this other world was mesmerizing and it made an everlasting impression on me - one that now speaks to the heart and soul of what I strive to do as a coach.
